Options for Self-directed support
Local councils must discuss 4 options with you if you have been assessed as needing a community care service. These are:
- option 1 – a direct payment, which is a payment to you or third party to pay for your own support
- option 2 – you direct the available support
- option 3 – the local council arranges the support
- option 4 – a mix of the above
You may not be eligible for all of these options. Whichever option you choose, your local council must still tell you the total amount of your budget.
