Your rights

Health rights

The Patient Rights (Scotland) Act 2011 supports the Scottish Government’s plans for a high-quality NHS that respects the rights of patients as well as their carers and those who deliver NHS services.

Included in the Act was the establishment of a Patient Advice and Support Service (PASS). Available at a local Citizens Advice Bureau, PASS provides free, accessible and confidential information, advice and support to anyone who uses the NHS in Scotland, their carers and families.
