What an assessment of your care needs costs

The assessment of your care needs is free.

Any services or equipment supplied by the NHS are free.

If you’ve been assessed as needing social care services, some of these may be charged for. The social care department will carry out a financial assessment to determine how much you’ll have to pay.

You must be told how much you have to pay before you decide to accept the service.
